Did you know your chronic fatigue could be related to gut issues within your body?  I’d like to talk to you about how fatigue and gut issues are very closely related.  Often with chronic fatigue one of the primary causes is that your body is not absorbing key nutrients and minerals that it needs.  You might not recognize that there could potentially be some foods that could be irritating your gut system.  Sometimes this is a process that happens very slowly over time.  It’s very subtle and since you don’t have a lot of outward symptoms you never really associate your chronic fatigue with gut symptoms.

My Experience with Chronic Fatigue

At a point in my life, I had chronic fatigue.  The fatigue was so great that I could barely walk across the block.  It was hard getting out of bed in the morning to complete my daily tasks.  As a result of my fatigue, I felt like I couldn’t socialize and hang out with my friends anymore.  I was always so tired that I was short with my family members.  My gut system was damaged over time from various different factors.  Now looking back, I’m sure I had imbalances within my gut for years upon years.  Perhaps it started back when I was a child.

Some of my imbalances were food-related as I wasn’t eating the foods that helped my body respond properly.  Additionally, I had a lot of stress in my life that I wasn’t dealing with or managing that well.  I tried different strategies to get my gut imbalances back in alignment, but I only seemed to get short-term relief.  I began working with a practitioner that looked at a very detailed analysis of my history.  Very specific labs were done that identified the key areas that needed to be rebalanced in my body.

My Life Today

Once I started working with a practitioner that understood the triggering factors for me and what needed to be done, I was able to see a difference.  This was life-changing!  I was able to actually regain enough energy that I could start to take on more tasks at work, socialize with friends, and I wasn’t short with my family anymore.

It was interesting to learn the interaction between stress, damage to my gut lining due to poor food choices over several years and how this had accumulated to give me low energy.  It actually helped to lower my stress levels.  I didn’t realize how much stress I was under just because of the fatigue I was feeling all the time.  I do still sometimes have to watch certain foods, those social settings, things that might bring more stress into my body and make sure that I’m not doing things that are out of balance for what my systems need.  Thankfully, I’ve been able to get my life back and do everything I enjoy recreationally, socially, and I have good relationships with my family members.
